About

No small thing

“No small thing” is what you say when someone shows up for you. It’s also true of a walk before work, a note to an old friend, a picture on your desk. Little by little, those add up.

No Small Thing makes a few good things at a time: shirts to wear, and soon cards to send and small prints to keep. Each one carries a picture or a few words worth coming back to, for you or for someone who needs them.

Where the name comes from

Zeno of Citium, who founded Stoicism, said a good life is reached little by little, and that is no small thing. We like that it works both ways. Small steps are how anything gets done, and none of them are small to the person taking them.

The shirts

Two of the three start with real art from museum collections: Rembrandt’s only seascape, a small boat in a big storm, and Ohara Koson’s geese on the move. The third is our own engraving of a runner on a ridge under the Big Dipper. Each one has two words under it: AMOR FATI, TAKE HEART, FAIR WINDS. The front just has a small stamp with our name.

How they’re made

We print on Next Level triblend tees, a light, soft fabric with a little stretch, in a men’s fit and a women’s fit. Every shirt is printed to order in the USA when you buy it, so there’s no warehouse full of shirts waiting for someone to buy them.
